Impact

Approach: Start-ups/scale-ups supported

KPIs: 30

Key activities: Supporting at least 30 Start-ups/scale-ups will be done through the implementation of actions that contribute to the development of these types of structures. First, the project will identify current startups, studying their needs and challenges and involving them in the project’s activities through collaboration models, while at the same time HEIs capacities in this regard will also be mapped and improved. Support to start-ups will be seen in the form of support services and participation in KIC acceleration programmes. These start-ups will be set up under the new business-cooperation model developed in the project, demonstrating the viability of the approach. Companies will be supported for at least 2 months with the project’s outputs (mentoring, legal advice, internationalisation, match-making);

Approach: Participants trained

KPIs: ≥ 6,500

Key activities: Training of people in the aspects of I&E will only be possible thanks to a HEI-wide contribution approach that is supported by other members of the knowledge triangle. The design, development and implementation of the Innovation for Future Technologies learning course will be the main proponent in allowing the project to reach the KPI (this course will have clearly defined learning outcomes, and be linked to the competency assessment method). This unique programme will be developed with alliance priorities and relevant EIT KIC thematic areas in mind, integrating experiential learning, cross-disciplinary projects, and challenge-based learning techniques. This will guarantee that a wide array of people are interested in joining and concluding the training. This KPI is also aligned with participants reaching at least 50% completion rate to meet the KPIs.

Approach: Participants in EIT-labelled activities

KPIs: ≥ 70

Key activities: In order to reach the necessary number of participants in EIT-labelled activities, the project will form a strategic alliance with the relevant KICs for a two-way exchange, where a set of trainees within the project scope will be selected to contribute/join dedicated KIC EIT Labeled  activities.

Approach: New/improved innovation structures

KPIs: ≥ 12

Key activities: To deliver new or improved innovation structures in the HEIs, the project will map the current state, identifying the gaps and then proposing the relevant solutions towards the design and implementation of supporting mechanisms at institutional level, which will dictate the creation of I&E structures in the HEIs to support innovation and / or entrepreneurship. Implementation will focus on joint incubators, digital infrastructure, innovation labs, career recognition, workload allocation, micro-credentials, common operational toolkits and guidelines for innovation and entrepreneurship activities.

Approach: New EIT ecosystem partnerships

KPIs: ≥ 20

Key activities: To meet the KPI of at least 20 new EIT ecosystem partnerships, the project will implement actions that aim at bringing the KICs into the project, including the development of joint activities (e.g. workshops and networking events). At least 1 partnership in each selected KIC – Climate, Food is expected. Then, to this number the new partnerships between HEIs and other members of the Knowledge Triangle will be counted.

Approach: Graduates from EIT Label programmes

KPIs: ≥ 30 graduates

Key activities: The project aims at contributing to Graduates from EIT Label education activities during all its operating years. For this the project will drive its participants towards other educational activities fostered by the EIT KICs that have been awarded the EIT Label.
